P3D1 Techdemo


As we did not have good technology for our planned game Shadows of Death, we decided to upgrade our PC engine Panther3D 1.5 and add support for shaders. After some time spent on development, it ended up with a technology demo. It was not a game, it was more like a technology showcase.

In this technology preview we presented these main features:

  • Physical body interaction
  • Lightmapping with deluxels for normal mapping on static geometry
  • Dynamic lighting and light projection
  • Special shader materials
  • Stereoscopic rendering (for red-cyan glasses)
  • Pos-process effects
